1918 flu pandemic related to H5N1 bird flu

An article in today's New York Times reports that the flu virus that caused the 1918 pandemic that killed 50 million people was a bird flu, related to the current outbreak of H5N1 bird flu, that jumped directly to humans. There is reason to be concerned about a global pandemic of H5N1.
